Fantastically transparent and upfront process. Columbia Riverkeeper is a model that environmental NGOs should strive for in their hiring practices and proof that enviros can create practices that are more accessible and equitable.
(1) Submitted an application to an email address. Riverkeeper made it clear to whom the cover letter should be addressed.
(2) Received email to schedule first interview. Later received list of questions to be asked along with who will be on the interviewing panel.
(3) First interview conducted remotely via Zoom.
(4) Invited for second interview, offered to meet in person and to cover portion of costs associated with meeting in person.
(5) Soon after accepting invitation, I received the list of questions for the second interview.
(6) Second interview, including opportunity to see both offices.
(7) References contacted (can't recall if this happened before or after second interview).
(8) After some time, I was offered the position. Riverkeeper clearly and openly explained the benefits package and gave me sufficient time to reply to their offer.
