      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      Dec 5, 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Collective Health (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2015

      Interview

You are first phone screened. If you pass the phone screen, you are scheduled for a follow-up phone screen with an internal recruiter. The internal recruiter unfortunately was late to the call. We had to reschedule to a later time that day. When the internal recruiter finally called, we had to hang up because the recruiter was kicked out of the conference room that was in use. When the recruiter called again for the third time, they were extremely rude, was interrupted several times, and did not know how to facilitate a proper phone interview. This had to have been the worst phone interview experience I've ever had.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Collective Health

      Interview

Applied online and was quickly put through 2 screener calls. During the first screening call, the Hiring Manager was 10 minutes late to our call, which was understandable since this was the first time in a long time that they were hiring for their People Team. I had another offer on the line, but was appreciative to be brought on site a couple days after the call. I really admire the quick responses and coordination with the team. During the onsite, it was a bit disorganized since the interviewers were unsure of the following people in the line up. Some interviewers didn't have any questions prepared, so it came off as an aimless conversation. When it came to meet the Hiring Manager, I was left alone in the room for another 10 minutes with no update on what was going on. The company promised to extend an offer, but ended up rescheduling 3 times without confirming an actual salary. At least 3-4 executives were OOO which made it difficult to confirm the offer details. Love the company and its mission, but unsure if I would want to work with such disorganized People Team.

      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Collective Health in Aug 2015

      Interview

I responded to a LinkedIn in mail sent by the internal recruiter. The phone interview was fine. I was brought onsite. I don't think anyone came prepared to speak with me. I had to drive the conversation many times. At one point an interviewer came in and left the door wide open behind them for our interview. One of the founders came in to speak with me and he had this arrogance about him that was very off putting. At times I could barely understand what he was saying and he seemed annoyed when I politely asked him to repeat himself. He asked how they could improve the interview process and I held back laughing. I liked that he asked that question but I couldn't say it was the worst interview experience I've ever had. I said something a bit trivial yet constructive and he just stared at me silently. It was so awkward. At some point we were kicked out of the conference room because someone else needed it. Onsite the recruiter seemed flustered, disorganized, anxious, and pushy. He kept repeating over and over and over how great it was to work there to the point where it just started to feel weird. I did not have a good interview experience at all. It was a total mess unlike anything I had ever experienced. Period. Some people I met were definitely very smart and very nice as individuals but overall I wanted to get out of there and was glad when it was over.
