      Interview

Initially had a phone screen with Person #1, which went very well. On the next day got an email from Person #2, asking me to do a "take-home coding assignment". Agreed, and was given instructions to do 2 tasks, a 20 minute task, and a “few hours” task. I spent about 3 hours on the tasks, and emailed my work to Person #2 as instructed. The response from Person #2 was simply “thanks” and “good luck”. I wrote back, saying that if they didn't want to hire me that was fine, but that I'd still be interested in some feedback on my coding after I invested several hours of my time on it. They ignored my request for feedback, even though I promised not to share the feedback in case they were concerned I could tip off other candidates. Perhaps they decided to disqualify me out of some other contemplation that had nothing to do with my coding. But then, what would be the purpose of asking a candidate to spend 3 hours if they are going to disqualify them regardless of that? For anybody still willing to interview with them, I would suggest that if they ask you to do a "take-home assignment", have them first agree to either provide detailed feedback on your work, or to compensate you for 2 / 3 hours of your time.
