I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Jan 2008
Interview
I was initially contacted by email to have a phone interview. It was very informal since they asked me to tell them about myself and so I did. I then got an immediate email stating that they would like me to come in for a face to face interview. HR made a mistake in giving the PI the wrong time of the interview but when I came they were still there and they understood that it was HRs fault. The interviewers were very friendly. I first met with the main 2 and then the manager of the lab. I was then given a tour of the place and introduced to the members of the lab.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (Cold Spring Harbor, NY) in Jun 2023
Interview
They didn't get back to me after a month when they had said it would take 2-3 weeks, and the PI obviously had forgotten. A whoops moment on their part, but embarrassingly unprofessional
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (Cold Spring Harbor, NY) in Jul 2013
Interview
I initiated contact with the PI online before sending in my application. The interview was scheduled a little less than a month after I sent the initial email - responses were timely and clear.
During the interview itself, I met with the PI, three post-docs, and the lab manager. I was asked typical questions about my own research interests, and my future plans. I researched the different projects going on the lab beforehand, but was not asked much regarding the specifics.
Everyone I met with was friendly and seemed very comfortable working while I was around. The interview style was somewhat casual, and I felt very relaxed.
