I was contacted for an interview on a Sunday, which was unexpected. The role was based in Penang, and when I asked for confirmation, the person said they were only handling scheduling and couldn’t share more context. We agreed on a Wednesday morning slot, and I was told the link would be sent on Monday.
However, the invite only came through at 4 AM on Tuesday and was resent again later that morning at 10am. Then, in the afternoon, I got a generic cancellation email and a call saying they wouldn’t be moving forward.
As HR, I totally understand the need to move fast and manage multiple candidate but the whole process felt rushed and unclear. There was no screening or proper communication, which doesn’t reflect well on the candidate experience.
A quick screen call to assess candidate suitability would’ve saved everyone time and shown more respect for the effort put into preparing. Since this is a big SSC, I hope they take this kind of feedback to heart and improve their process moving forward.
