I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Cohen & Steers (New York, NY) in Sep 2025
Interview
This company made me a tentative offer and rescinded it at the last minute for someone else after I had come to their office for an in person interview.
The first round was a standard conversation with a leader of their team, and was standard. There were no cross-examination questions, and they quickly put me through to the second round of the interview process.
The second round was a six hour written exam. The company sent this exam and all related materials to me late. After I handed this in, I was asked to attend more interviews, and a comprehensive background check process, provide references, etc. Once this was complete, they rescheduled my final interview with the team, that was set to be in person, minutes before I arrived at their New York City office for the first meeting.
While I was enthusiastic at the prospect of working there, they were largely inconsiderate of my time throughout a majority of this process.

Question 1
They asked me what I know about the company, why I would be a good fit, and if I would be comfortable taking a 6+ hour interview exam as a part of the second round of the interview process.
Recruiter call, then 1st round with hiring manager, onsite with team. Pretty straightforward but want to know you did your research. Came through an agency but I was aware of the company.

3 rounds not including the initial screening - you met with each member of the team and the first two rounds were virtual with the last round in person with all team members.
