I applied online. I interviewed at Clinton Health Access Initiative
Interview
Submitted my application, and heard back about 4 weeks later to schedule an interview. It took the recruiter a while to respond to my availability/interest to schedule a call (another 2.5 weeks).
Finally we schedule the screening call. The recruiter was friendly and engaging. I was promised a follow up about next steps, but that still hasn't come despite follow ups. It's been nearly a month since the interview.
Transparency would be nice or at least let people know of the results rather than keeping them in the dark.
To this day, I have no updates, and it's a bit frustrating because as candidates, we take time off work to interview, and prepare.

Interview
I passed the HR screening and was scheduled for an interview with the hiring manager. When I logged on, nobody showed up. After waiting 10 minutes, I sent a reminder email, and received a reply within 30 seconds saying they'd "be right there" as they had just come off another meeting. When they finally joined, the interviewer had very messy bed hair and a visibly tangled headphone cord. They had clearly not been in a meeting, they had forgotten the interview entirely.
The person who showed up was not the hiring manager I was told to expect, but a team member, and they showed disengagement the whole process.
What makes this especially galling is that CHAI explicitly demands attention to detail, compassion, and responsibility from candidates, traits their own hiring process failed to demonstrate at every turn.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself, why do you want to work here.
First round: ~20 min call with HR to discuss my background in alignment with the role
Second round: Technical/written assignment.
Third round: Interview with the hiring/position’s manager
Fourth round: Interview with another team member from a different office that had been in the same role as the position I applied.
Rounds 1-3 took place over the course of a month. They didn’t contact me for an additional month for round 4 because they were pursuing the top candidate during that time. By the time I had my 4th interview, the other candidate officially accepted the offer.

Question 1
They look for solid examples of how you can problem-solve. Adaptability was important to highlight.
