I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Chime (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2025
Interview
The interview process was fairly standard - I did an initial recruiter screen, hiring manager screen, then there are 2 loops - the first has a case style product interview, a brainstorming component, and a interview about fielding ambiguous requests.
The second loop had a deep dive into a technical product you worked on, a product case study, a written PRD exercise based on the case study, and a data evaluation.
Incredibly intensive interview course - 5 rounds total: recruiter screen, HM interview, round 1 of cases, round 2 of cases and an exercise, then CPO interview. Hiring manager was fantastic, most of the interviewers for the panel were great. Very subpar recruiting experience though - recruiter routinely forgot about my application, either would require 2-3 emails reminding them before scheduling rounds. After my last round, I followed up asking for a timeline 3 times (over 2 weeks), got no response, then received a generic rejection after 3 weeks.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Ideation around emerging tech, org structure, ambiguous request case
Average questions. It was not difficult. The interviewer was engaging but technical questions weren't ask. I only went through the phone screening process. The next day, recruiter called to follow up.
