We take these matters seriously and are committed to fostering a hiring experience that is fair, respectful, and inclusive for all candidates. We appreciate your note about the interview question regarding work-life balance. While our intention is always to understand how we can best support our staff, we also understand the importance of how such questions are framed, especially in the context of gender and parental status.
Regarding the references and screening process, we aim to make thoughtful hiring decisions and validate work experience and qualifications. Sometimes requesting additional information is necessary to do so. That said, we also strive to be respectful of candidates’ time and that of their references, and recognize that this process felt excessive.
