Online assessment took 30 minutes Multiple choice math and English questions Then a rating scale question on different scenarios In person interview and another assessment In person interview/ child interaction reading a book to children.

This is one of the strangest interview processes I’ve ever had. I took two long tests about my work style and then a test with random questions about the meaning of words and math questions. I also had to fill out a strange form disclosing my sexuality and was not allowed to skip this question. This raised a 🚩 in my head. I was emailed instructions to call the school to schedule an interview. I called the office, the receptionist was surprised that I was given a generic email to call this number. I arrived at the interview and they had me write an impromptu essay about why American education is doing poorly compared to the rest of the world. Now, this is really interesting topic to me but I would have rather had a discussion than write an essay for 15 minutes only for them not to bring it up. They had me do an ethics test, and then finally gave the interview. Frankly, I’ll admit I didn’t interview as well as I thought I could and probably used language that was a little too casual. But they asked me a strange question, “tell me about a time an employer treated a coworker unfairly and what did you do about it?” sexuality + suspicious workplace question = 🤨🤨🤨 This is screaming political, especially as a POC. I didn’t give a great answer because I am very very early in my career but the question probably signals they have a problems in the past with employees justly. This was good interview practice for me. I don’t think I would have accepted the job even if they offered it to me, but they sent me a very….funny email that basically saying they’ll never hire me. This is a position that they are constantly hiring for so…..jokes on you Challenger! You can’t keep employees, treat them fairly, and while your education maybe good, it is certainly not worldly nor challenging in the right ways.
