I applied via Monster. I got a phone call from their HR to schedule an interview at their Anaheim, CA office. When I showed up other interview candidates were also showing up, which I took as a bad sign. For a so called fortune 500 company the building was cheap looking and ill maintained. Must be how they get to be fortune 500, by cutting cost everywhere even in maintenance. Before I met with the person who was to interview me we (me and the other engineers who showed up for the interview) had to take some test about counting 3 dimensional pictures of boxes. These boxes were arranged in various patterns and we had to figure out how many boxes were in the stacks. After this the HR employees graded the box exam. Afterwards I was called in to the office of the head engineer. Worst interview ever, and a complete and total waste of my time and day. I should of just gone to check out the Angels stadium across the street then went to go eat a burger. This guy stared at the application which we were required to fill out, and asked me why I chose mechanical engineering. Only question he asked. The interview was 5 minutes long. They are supposedly going by the box test to see who they hire. I felt like telling this guy "Really that's it?". Oh well. On the way out two more candidates walked in. Poor guys. I wonder what they really base their hiring upon?
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Chad Industries in Aug 2008
Interview
I got a phone call. Setup an interview. I went to the office then I took a skills test. Then I had to answer some questions from the interviewer. Then it took 3 weeks later for them to offer me the job,
