I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles, CA) in Feb 2014
Interview
I was initially called by a receptionist asking if I was interested in the position. I said I was, and we arranged a time for me to have an hour long Skype interview with the MD leading the lab. When the interview rolled around, my interviewer was very late and seemed flustered. She explained the position briefly, quickly grilled me on my knowledge (see below), and asked if I'd want to go back to graduate school. I said I do, in a few years, as I'd like to get some work experience first. She then said I probably wouldn't be a good fit since they want someone to stay very long term.
She asked if I had any questions, I asked a few (what do you enjoy about your job, is there anything else I can answer for you, etc). After asking again if I had any more questions, she said she was late for another meeting.
Overall, the "interview" was unprofessional and took a total of 9 minutes. The whole time she seemed like she didn't want to be talking to me, nor was she interested in what I was saying. I didn't want this job the second the interview was concluded, as a manager who acts like that in an interview most likely would act even less caring towards their employees.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked to talk about my scientific knowledge/experience, but my interviewer obviously hadn't looked at my resume to see I've worked in four very different labs. When I asked 'Which study would you like to know about?' she responded 'Whichever.'
I applied online. I interviewed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles, CA) in Sep 2024
Interview
The interview process starts with talking to HR first, then an interview with the lead scientist and finally an interview with the PI. After a week maybe two HR will make you an offer when you try to rebuttal the salary because its usually lower than most places they will barely try to budge.

Question 1
Tell my about your current experience in a wet lab?

Interview
I talked to the PI and two of the other research associates of the department I would potentially be joining. They asked me about some soft skills and my lab experience.

Question 1
What is one your greatest strength and how does that apply to the lab?
Zoom Interview, then called in for a second interview to meet with the research team in a more casual setting. Zoom asked basic questions like why are you interested, what are your career goals, what is your background. In-person was to see if you got along with the team & if the team likes you.
