      Senior Project Manager Interview

      Jul 6, 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Caylent

      Interview

Multiple rounds of interviews with a mock kick-off meeting to conclude. The basic interviews were very canned questions with interviewees who felt like they were there to check the box. The mock kick-off felt like it was all just a gotcha instead of measuring any type of true skills. And they won't say this out loud until you are done, but they will determine what position they want to offer you throughout the process so even though you may think you are interviewing for a senior position, they may just be offering you a lower position in the end. The old bait and switch after hours of effort.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Caylent

      Interview

      1. Recruiter screening 2. Skills assessment with Sr. PM 3. Behavioral assessment with Manager 4. Panel-style presentation consisting of 3 people and some follow-up questions For the final interview, they will send you a prompt and request you to create a presentation that you'll present to the "board". I felt that a lot of their comments/questions and things I may have missed was due to a misalignment of expectations. For example, the prompt said to include a high-level timeline and in my feedback I was told they were expecting to see dependencies mapped out in the timeline - which isn't high-level. Another example was that they expected that I knew how Caylent worked - like how an SOW would have already been signed at this point and that would dictate if this was a fixed or variable budget, while the prompt said this was a pitch-meeting. Overall, I felt that I fulfilled the prompt, but they were expecting something else. Additionally, the pay range is not at all competitive. I would be taking on a lot more work for less money. For the responsibilities they are expecting for this role, the pay and title should be better

      Vancouver, BC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Caylent (Vancouver, BC) in Apr 2026

      Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter and went through a multi-stage interview process that moved quickly. The process included an initial recruiter conversation, then 2 separate follow-up interviews focused on project management experience and client communication, and a final panel interview with a presentation/scenario component. Overall, the process was organized, friendly, and transparent
