*Carnival Cruise Line Interview Experience*
I had a two-part interview process with Carnival Cruise Line. The first interview went exceptionally well, with an engaging interviewer who made me feel at ease. What's more, they had actually found me on LinkedIn and mentioned that they thought I was a good match for the role based on my profile - it was nice to see that my online presence had caught their attention. They expressed being impressed with my background and qualifications, which set a positive tone for the interview.
The second interview was a different story. While I was well-prepared and felt comfortable, the dynamic between the two interviewers was notable. The junior interviewer was friendly and seemed impressed with my qualifications. However, the senior interviewer came across as closed-off and apprehensive, despite attempting to display a pleasant demeanor. I sensed a level of discomfort and skepticism from her, which made me question whether I'd be a good fit for the team. Ultimately, I'm not sure I'd want to work with someone who seems guarded and unwelcoming. After all, people don't leave jobs, they leave bad bosses.
Not surprisingly, I wasn't offered the job after the second interview, and I'm sure it's a blessing in disguise. I'm grateful for the experience and the opportunity to have met the team, but I'm confident that I dodged a potential bullet.
*Pros:* Engaging first interviewer, opportunity to showcase qualifications, proactive recruitment approach
*Cons:* Uncomfortable dynamic with senior interviewer, seemed like a potential red flag.
