      Financial Analyst Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Carney

      Interview

A recruiter contacted me via email approximately five to six weeks after submitting my application online. The email arrived in my inbox on a Tuesday at 11:28 pm, which I found a little odd. The recruiter asked me to suggest times I would be available to discuss my background. I responded the following day (Wednesday) with my availability. I gave her a broad range of days and times to choose from. Five days later, I hadn't received a response, so I followed up via email on Monday. I once again provided my availability. Specifically, I stated that I was available any day that week between 11am-5pm and kindly asked that the recruiter respond and tell me which day and time worked best for her so that I could schedule it in my calendar. I received a response after 10pm that night stating that the recruiter would "reach out to me during the times I'd suggested". At this point, I was a little frustrated because I cannot possibly keep my phone by me every second of the day, nor can I ensure that I am in an appropriate location to take such an important call without having the time narrowed down. Three days later, I still hadn't heard from the recruiter, so I followed up, yet again, via email. I told her that I really hoped that we could speak soon, and requested that she narrow down the time. I included my availability on two additional days. Seven days later (and 16 days from the recruiter's initial contact), I received an automated rejection email from the recruiter stating that they had reviewed my resume, but had decided to pursue other candidates. The recruitment process was, in my experience, highly disorganized and unprofessional. The company is well within its rights to interview and hire any candidate they choose; however, it makes no sense for a recruiter to contact me, follow up stating that she would reach out to me soon, and then not even attempt to call me.
