They are paying half of the market rate for this role (my junior ICs make more than this salary band). When I asked if there is any wiggle room on the compensation band, she said it was firm and maybe the remainder of their benefits package would be enticing: Can't contribute to 401k until 6 months in. Company match not available until 1 year anniversary. Unlimited PTO after 90 days. None of this is competitive to the job market today.
