I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at California Air Tools (Chula Vista, CA) in Dec 2014
Interview
I applied to their ad on Craigslist. Got a response requesting an interview. I replied back and we set a date.
I arrive at the location. There was literally no parking. I parked next door and walked over. It was an extremely small office with barely any workers there. I waited about 10 minutes then had my interview. They say they have warehouses in Mexico with the majority of their workforce which I was told was about 200 employees.
I was barely asked any questions. Interview seemed more like a presentation of the company and the position, then we talked about my past experience and software knowledge and that was it. Fast interview.
I felt like they had their mind up the second I walked into the office. It was a very simple job and I had better experiences on my resume which showed I can more than handle it.
They did present to me some tired bonus program where they start out with a pot of money each month and based on everyone's contributions that's how it gets divvied up between the whole office. So even though you are only a clerical worker, you have to figure out ways to better run the company by figuring out how others in the office and yourself should do their and your job better and/ save them money to get a piece of the bonus.
Their justification for only paying $9.00 is that they have to train you. The job is customer service, data entry and posting on social media. Training shouldn't take more than 1-2 days. If it takes longer than that then you hired someone whose incompetent. And if training is only 1-2 days then they have no argument other than being cheap and wanting you to work for peanuts.
Funny thing is afterward, they sent me a letter saying I didn't have enough experience for the position so they hired another candidate when I had more than enough experience and debased myself by applying to something that wouldn't have even paid my bills in the first place.
Waste of time. And two days later, I saw them repost the ad.
