Talent Acquisition Manager scheduled a phone screen. When she called for our phone screen, she was seemingly walking to her car, and ultimately we talked for about 3-4 minutes and then ended up scheduling a video call. Video call was also brief, didn’t really ask any questions, she said she just wanted to “put a name to a face”. She was very eager and the feedback was positive. Scheduled next with Director of TA who canceled once I joined our interview call, rescheduled, had a really good conversation and the feedback was very positive to the point that she was talking “when” I start, and not “if”. Ultimately, I received an email that had some grammatical errors from the TA Manager who said they were going with another candidate. Surprising, and I have a gut feeling I was a just a quota interview and not a genuine interview, unfortunately. Thinking back, they were not really interested in asking about my past roles and what I could bring to the role. It was more of a “you have a great background” narrative. Fortunately, I found another great opportunity. Just be aware that the process may be superficial.
