The initial interview was kept brief and to the point, a casual conversation about job description and qualifications. Most of the cliche questions such as where do you see yourself in five years, were not mentioned. For the most part, the questions were very straight forward. Do you feel like you are qualified? Why should I hire you? etc The questions were job related, and focused on how my skills pertained to the job.
No discussion of compensation was addressed in the initial interview, however other benefits such as medical and vacation leave were mentioned. I was called back for a second interview where compensation was addressed, and I had to fill out paperwork for a background check. The position was offered, contingent upon the results of the background check.
The entire process took about 3 weeks.
