      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at CT in Apr 2021

      Interview

I initially applied for the Email Marketing Specialist position on their website. After submitting my application there was an option for a bonus question. As soon as you apply, they provide a link to the positions skills test, but allow you to skip this while they review your resume. I decided to opt out of completing it at this time because it required a video and it was late in the evening. After 2 days I received an email with a link to the skills test. While it may seem like a "no-reply" email, I responded with a question and received a response later that day. Once I completed the skills test, they reached out to me the following week to schedule a video call interview with a recruiter. The recruiter interview was about 30-45 minutes and just included initial HR type questions and a lot of details on the position as well as another position they thought I'd be a good candidate for. While the interview was very scripted, I assume this is so the hiring managers can review it later, it was very informative and asked a lot of the usual qualifying questions. During my interview I had asked several questions they were unable to answer, but within just a few hours I was emailed an answer to all my questions. After the interview, I received a follow-up skills test which was fairly simple and not as extensive as the first. The recruiter informed I would either receive an offer or rejection within the next 1-2 weeks. Unfortunately, the following week I received an email that they decided to go with another candidate. Also, the recruiter was extremely communicative. I responded to the rejection email and he sent me a speedy response. I was super disappointed as it was a very extensive process, but I gained new insight for future interviews. Overall it was a pleasant experience and you can tell they are really trying to hire only the best.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The first skill test included several questions. The first three were general questions about experience in the field, followed my several email campaign prompts, a video discussing your strategy, and then a video introduction of yourself. The "in-person" interview was a recorded video call, most of the questions regarded your past experience, day-to-day, why you're leaving this role, and salary expectations, etc.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at CT (Los Angeles, CA)

      Interview

I did all the tests on the website, submitted all the videos, and then, about 3/4 weeks later, I got an email from the recruiter, giving me the good news that I passed! The interview was pretty chill. After the interview, I did more tests, and after another 3 weeks, they sent me an offer letter. The whole thing took about 7 weeks.
