Contact with HR was nice, albeit a little perfunctory. As I always do, I came in for my interview a couple of minutes early to give myself a buffer. I was escorted up to the office suite, had a pleasant greeting, offered a beverage and deposited into the meeting room. The woman from HR said she would get the Hiring manager. I waited about 15-20 minutes, seeing no one around me I called the main number from my cell. I got the receptionist and after I told her why I was calling, she put me on hold as she tried to track down the HR contact and or the Hiring Manager. After waiting a few more minutes, I decided the whole endeavor was a waste of my time. As I was getting ready to leave, (maybe about 40 minutes into waiting) the Hiring Manager finally walked into the room, apologized and said she had a hard stop and would have to leave soon. I could not believe what was happening, it was almost an out of body experience, but I sat through maybe 20-30 minutes with her. She asked me some basic questions about my previous experience, and while the conversation was pleasant enough, the whole experience did not exactly inspire confidence in the organization. Based on my interaction, I was left with the impression that these nice people have no idea what they are doing. Big red flag for anyone considering accepting a position with them.
