I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at ByteDance (Beijing, Beijing) in Jan 2021
Interview
The interviews were good, although had to go through 5 total rounds of interview with different people and departments.
1. The main marketing colleague
2. Marketing boss
3. Head of the product you were going to promote
4. Head of Sales (Head of Product wanted MKT to closely work with Sales)
5. HR
Interviews were chill, no major issues personally. They were also quite open about the fact that you really work a lot and a lot of hours in the company, and they ask you if you are truly ready for that.

Question 1
What would your strategy be in promoting this product from a PR and Content creation point of view?
Het begon met een vluchtig gesprekje met de recruiter waar snel door je ervaring wordt heengegaan en niet echt veel ruimte is voor vragen over de functie of de werkplek.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ByteDance
Interview
Had 4 rounds of interviews for a Product Marketing Manager position, after having a recruiter reach out directly.
First round was with the Hiring Manager, second round was with the Market Lead, third round was with HR, and fourth was with the Regional Lead.
Despite having spoken with the recruiter and go through to the final round, the result of the final round was shared via an automated email, not even by the recruiter I had been working with. Seemed extremely impersonal for a candidate who had spent so much time and was one of the final candidates. No reasons were shared regarding the outcome.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ByteDance (Singapore) in Oct 2023
Interview
Very disorganised and the recruiters just kept bouncing you off to different roles despite completing all the rounds (4-5 of them each time). Each end of the role comes with a conclusion of 'no headcount', 'overqualified' and makes the candidates think if they are just doing interviewing to get information.
