      Personal Trainer Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Menomonee Falls, WI
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Burn Boot Camp (Menomonee Falls, WI) in May 2021

      Interview

Kinda disappointing. I spent about 8 hours of interviews over the span of 5 days. First day I came in, asked questions and we talked about availability and job basics. 2nd day I took a boot camp. 3rd day I shadowed 2 camps. 4th day I shadowed a camp and taught a camp. 5th day I spent almost 3 hours there teaching a camp, shadowing the next camp, then waiting around to talk to the interviewer and then was declined the offer. Was told I could join the boot camp as a client then become an instructor later. They liked me but I didn't possess enough of a "burn" authoritative style they were looking for

      Question 1

Not much, just my availability mostly. My resume mostly spoke for me so they just wanted to see how I would perform

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Burn Boot Camp

      Interview

I went through a four-step process (interview, class, and two mic auditions) for a corporately owned studio in Utah. I have 10+ years of training and coaching experience and have auditioned at multiple venues and my experience at Burn was horrendous and unprofessional. My mic auditions (2 @ 45 minutes each) were only to the lead trainer *and her three year old.* I have never had to contend with trying to audition while a toddler runs, screams, trips, cries spills food, etc. all over the gym. It also opened the door to have the lead trainer ask illegal, personal questions to me about my family and obligations outside of teaching. I emailed the corporate recruiter to ask to withdraw my application, but did not receive a response. I would not recommend Burn to any of my fellow trainers.

Do you have any kids? What ages are your kids? Did you have them later in life?
