Bit of damp squib this one. I was very excited as I like the cut of Bruntwoods jib. However, there was a bit of a palaver getting the interview set up and no preparation was offered. SO I was walking in blind.
Interview was fairly standard, competency based questions asked in 2 interviewer approacher. Bit miffed by the interviewers themselves, as it seemed to be more of a 'Does the face fit?' exercise, rather than a more forward thinking strategy. That's a shame, but I totally understand why they feel the need to conduct the recruitment process in such a way. A lot of companies are constrained by fear in their recruitment process.
So it didn't click and I certainly did walk away wondering "what was that all about?".
These things happen can't worry too much, have had much better experiences since.
The thing that really shone a negative light is I have had absolutely no feed back, even though it was well over 4 weeks ago. In all my years as a manager, not once have I failed to present an interviewee with some form of feedback. When prospective employees have taken the time and effort to come and see me for an interview, the least I can do is ensure that the communications are kept up.
Maybe an area to work on?
I still believe they look like a great company to work for and I can think of a number of people in my FM network that would excel in the position. However, I see the job is out to advert again. Maybe this is the time for them to reflect on their recruitment process, especially with talent acquisition and retention being key drivers in the modern FM & Property world?
