Applied on linked in to the "Promotions Coordinator" role. Got an offer to interview the next day.
I read reviews about the company so I wanted to ask myself. I called and stated I had read reviews on the company and asked if this was more of a sales job. She politely said there is sales involved, but this isn’t a quota or commission based job. I said I was under the impression this was a marketing and promotional job but I had read about the Sams Club/Costo almost trademark-ey type sales. And she said yes that is what they do but the promote, and market the product with brand management. She said everyone starts at that level and may move up to organizing the actually presentations themselves.
So yes, you go to Sams Club, etc and stand there and promote and market a product to people shopping. That’s it. Woohoo. I said I misunderstood the job and politely asked her to cancel my interview for tomorrow. She was extremely professional and nice though I’ll give her that.
