I applied online. I interviewed at Blue State (Washington, DC) in Jun 2026
Interview
The interview process had five main steps. The first was an interview screen with HR, the second is an interview with the hiring manager, the third is a skills assessment, the fourth is actually two interviews combined into one round, and the fifth is an interview with two members of their executive team. If all of this sounds like too much, that's because it is. I got the sense that they either didn't really know what they wanted, or they think so highly of themselves they need all these rounds for a job that pays under $80,000.
After making it past almost all the rounds, I received an email with little to no feedback from a no-reply email. I should have listened many of the reviews saying that it was not a good place to work. Given the lengthy interview process, I'd advise others to not waste their time applying.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Blue State (Washington, DC) in Jan 2022
Interview
The first interview, was an video interview with the main hiring manager, and the second initial interview was with the team lead. Both interviews were about an hour long, but I don't think either of them went the distance.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me what was my favorite, or strong suite stack.
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Blue State (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2025
Interview
Phone call with a recruiter and then a Zoom interview with a hiring manager. This was for a contract role so likely was different from their interview process for full-time hires.
