      Global Data Analyst Interview

      Nov 5, 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (London, England) in Oct 2015

      Interview

The first stage is two online tests (competency questions and then numerical reasoning). The second stage is a telephone interview with HR. Typical interview with questions such as why Bloomberg and why this role (make sure you have these two questions prepared because they will ask them in all the stages FOR SURE), financial news of your interest, what do you know about the terminal, any team experience – how do you behave in a teamwork… (20 minutes) The third stage is an interview with two team leaders. Basically they want to see enthusiasm on you, that you really want to work in that company and in that role and why. They also put you in stressful situations like “if you had a client shouting at the telephone because you provided wrong data what would you do and what would you say to him? And if at the same time you manager comes and gives you more and more data to process RIGHT NOW what would you do fist? And if a colleague comes now…? Things like this that test how you work under pressure. They asked idea you had that was implemented in real life to improve any process. (1 hour) The forth one is the interview with the management. This one was the most serious, in my case. They make questions based on my CV and questions basically based on EVERYTHING YOU SAY. They asked if you have applied to any other positions, where and why. The security preferences, your computer skills if you know about VBA… again why BBG and why the role… They were not friendly at all since the minute one, and I felt they were not interested about interview me, which is disrespectful. (1 hour) My overall experience wasn’t nice. One of the team leaders offered to call me in order to help me to the next interview and I am waiting for his call yet… I received feedback from HR telling unhelpful blabla like I seem to be more motivated for other roles that I applied (LIE) – so be careful what you answer when they question if you have applied for other roles.
