I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (Singapore) in Jun 2012
Interview
I applied for the Singapore/Sydney position. The hiring process consisted of 3 interviews - 2 phones and 1 face-to-face.
1. First one was a phone interview from Singapore HR. Standard HR questions: why BBG, why this role, your strengths and weaknesses, recent financial news you've read.
2. Second one was also a phone interview. This time from the head of Singapore Equity Analytics team. Questions were more practical (explain options, CDS) in nature and involved some role-play (pretend you were a customer support from Microsoft). Again, was asked to explain what you know about and why BBG and this position.
3. Last round was face-to-face at the Sydney office with the head of Sydney Sales and head of Singapore Analytics (VDO-called in). Interview emphasise strongly on why BBG and this position. Sales question was "I have a BlackBerry, sell me an iPhone". Technical questions revolved around your response. Mine was equity and IPOs. Was initially asked to explain P/E ratio. I incorporated FB IPO into the answer and was then asked where do I see the IPO market heading in the future.

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Bloomberg (New York, NY) in Jun 2024
Interview
6 month interview cycle so it takes a while to actually talk to managers. The trader was not the nicest and would laugh after interviews. Overall a really long process
