I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bitvavo
Interview
The hiring process involved an HR meeting, a HackerRank test, a technical discussion, a system design round, and a cultural fit interview. The HR Manager was helpful and provided useful preparation tips, leading to a smooth experience up to that point. Despite successfully passing all stages until the cultural fit interview, and despite my colleagues defining me as someone with strong ownership – a quality I've demonstrated in similar Q&A interviews before – I did not receive an offer. The feedback cited a 'lack of ownership skills,' which is baffling given my track record and the positive feedback I've received.
The real reason, I think, appears to be their reluctance to provide a relocation package and sponsor a non-EU visa. They seem to have opted for a candidate already located in the EU or an EU citizen. This feels disingenuous and a waste of time for non-EU applicants. It's important to be aware of this potential bias.

Question 1
The interview covered Java, Spring multithreading, designing a bonus service, and behavioral questions.
