Easy simple lame typical question for the team and me and you from start to finish but not hard at all anyone could answer quick in and out matting. No need to prepare yourself for the next round
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Birst (San Francisco, CA) in May 2014
Interview
It was very chaotic, my manager lady was really rude and was asking my pay stubs and proof of salary to being with me in the interview. I’m not even sure if it’s legal to ask for it. I refused to provide pay stubs like that so when I went for the interview it was 4-5 hours long and they just threw me out during lunch time instead of going out with me for lunch which I thought was the plan all along.
Really terrible experience.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Birst (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2017
Interview
I was contacted by the Talent Acquisition Special(Recruiter) at Infor (Birst has been acquired by Infor) on LinkedIn. The first call was with the recruiter to discuss the responsibilities of the role and the company.
I initially had a call with hiring manager who explained me about their product and what are their expectations from the role. He explained it well from technical as well as business standpoint and asked me to introduce myself and any projects that i have done.
I was invited for an on-site interview at the Birst office. There were three interviews scheduled in a duration of 2 hours. The first interview was with the hiring manager(30 mins), the second with two team members(45mins) and third interview with Principal Engineer (45 mins).
The hiring manager asked questions like:
1. Why Birst and why not Birst?
2. What do you like most about the support engineer role?
3. What do you not like about support engineer role?
4. Describe your current role?
5. Why do you want to switch jobs?
The second round with team members was mostly focused on directions/ways you take when a problem comes to you. One team member started with a problem to troubleshoot an issue where customer reports an issue graph/chart(data visualization) shows incorrect values. How would one go about it and what questions to ask customer.
The other team member asked questions from my resume trying to know areas i have worked on.
The third interview was a technical questions interview which includes Data warehousing and Database concepts.
