      Account Manager Interview

      Aug 1, 2011
      Anonymous employee
      Austin, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BidPrime (Austin, TX) in May 2010

      Interview

One of my friends worked for this company and referred me since they needed assistance with sales. I heard it was a small start up that was growing fast, and they needed help with handling the sales volume. My first interview was on the phone with the VP of Business Development. It was very informal. He then set up a time for me to get interviewed with a partner of the company. We met first at a coffee shop where he lectured me about the industry and gave me some information about the culture of the company. He asked very few questions to me actually. He asked me to review a lot of information and set up a time the next week to go into the office and undergo an interview. I went in the next week to the office, was interviewed by a group of 4 people, including my current boss. Lots of quizzing about the industry as they tried to see how much research I had done. It was definitely tough, but luckily I had done my due diligence. After some paperwork I left and received an offer a week later.
