I had an “interview” back in August where they had requested a write up for three improvements to their game. After reaching out to get feedback I was told that although they liked my background and presentation, my candidacy was paused due to the product team growing faster than expected.
Fast forward to January, and the application had opened again. I get another “interview” with the same request in addition to a 15 min screening with the HM. The day before the screening, the HM reaches out to me saying they can’t move me forward due to my prior interview feedback. I was shocked because I never got a chance to speak to anyone or get a reason for why I was suddenly rejected.
It’s the absence of transparency that really shows the lack in humanity during this whole process. Leaving candidates with anxiety of not knowing what they did wrong is something that needs to be recognized and resolved within their interview process.
