Dear applicant,
I want to start by apologizing (yes, again) for the experience you had during your interview. You are correct, I was personally managing the entire process, and had no idea that so many applicants would apply for the position. To be honest, I was overwhelmed with great applicants, such as yourself.
I started using a new applicant tracking system called BambooHR. It is a great tool, but as you found out for yourself, it tends to send too many emails when it shouldn't. This is something I have already addressed with the team.
When you did join the video conference call on our system (yes, it's called Zoom, I love that system), my day was a total mess. For this, I am really sorry, as I had mentioned to you in my email.
As it turns out, we hired 4 amazing candidates in a one week span. I became completely overwhelmed with very rigorous training sessions for the new teammates and I didn't provide you the response you deserved.
Please let me assure you that no one was laughing at you when you joined the call. There was indeed some laughter, but it was my team that was laughing at me for being disorganized.
In the midst of all of this, we switched from Microsoft Office 365 to Gsuite. We're very glad we made the move, but since my inbox is so large, it still hasn't copied over. This is why I missed the response I promised you on the 2nd email.
None of what I've just written is an excuse for what happened. It's simply what happened, and I am responsible for the poor management of the communications between us. I hate looking goofy, but with what you have described, I did indeed.
I do consider myself a professional businessman. I try to do all I do while living our values of Passion, Respect, Innovation and Quality. There was no lack of Passion, and clearly the Innovation was pushed beyond its limits. But I failed to Respect you with a high Quality interview process.
I will open my old outlook email and respond to you, as you rightfully deserve.
Thank for the candid feedback. I truly appreciate it.
Kind regards,
Paul-André
