I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at BTQ Financial (New York, NY)

Bizarre and unstructured. Multiple in-person interviews that left me thinking I had secured the job and then surprisingly dismissed via the recruiter who has just as confused as I was about the last minute rejection. High turnover. I just got contacted by another recruiter to interview for the same position less than a year later. I declined.

Question 1

During what was supposed to be be final interview with the owners/leaders of the organization they asked me interview questions for an alternative position off the cuff with no job description. The recruiter who initially reached out to me and was kind enough to do a debrief, actually told me that I should have declined to respond and focus on the job description I had, even if the request did come from the c-suite level owners.

Recruiter set up interview. Had phone interview first, then got invited for a 1 1/2 hr in-person with 2 directors. Both were happy / very eager to hire despite some requirements would have to be learned. Second interview was not with who the 2 directors said it would be. He was an Assistant Director. Didn't even shake my hand! Entertained me for an hour, seemed bored; even disparaged the company, saying it was disorganized and the job he got was not as advertised. Very unprofessional. Afterwards, he told the recruiter I didn't have enough accounting experience. Waste of time.

Decent Interview Questions - The interviewer seemed to be in a great rush and a little unprofessional. Also, they did not have the courtesy to respond back with the results. Spoke to a few employees about the company, they all said bad things about the work and the culture.
