      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at BL Legacy (Fairfield, NJ) in May 2019

      Interview

The interview was with 3 other people. We were asked about our past experience, job expectations, etc. Everyone seemed kind of rushed. Everything seemed pretty normal until the woman interviewing told us about their 60 hour work week and how generally no time off is allowed. One other girl & I had just graduated college and we were told (in a rude tone) that "this is not college; you can't just take a spring break or a day off whenever you want," as if we had no concept of how the working world works. Another man in our group had 15 years of marketing experience & was literally told his experience didn't matter & he would be placed back down at entry level. After going over the role, the last thing she told us was that this is a door-to-door sales job, basically a pyramid scheme & that we get paid on commission only.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

We were asked about experience & in the end, if we were interested in door-to-door sales after all of us had said our experience had nothing to do with this.

I'm very sorry you felt rushed, or that you didn't think I knew you had a concept of the working world. That was NEVER my intent at all. With that being said, I do believe you took what I said out of context, which is probably why you felt the way you did. So let me further explain. We do work more than your typical 9-5, which is why I explain our hours in full detail in the initial interview because I want to be very upfront, honest, and transparent about what we do here at BL Legacy. This is an entrepreneurship program where we invest our time upfront to experience more time later on in the future. When I was explaining the hours and when I used the "spring break" example I was simply stating that someone will grow here, however fast or slow or they want. That people who have gone through our program have made a choices to maybe turn down a trip like "spring break" to be able to invest their time here to get a better result faster just like maybe someone going through college might turn down a trip like that because they are striving very hard to accomplish their degree. I was not, in any way, saying that someone can't take time off! That would be insane! One of the biggest things we pride ourselves in here is our strong communication with one another. As long as someone communicates with me about things going on in their life, I am more than happy to accommodate them. And for the other gentleman, I think it is absolutely fantastic he had experience but here at BL Legacy, we do believe in promoting from within. Our business model has everyone starting from the ground up. We believe it is important and highly valuable to be able to learn and master every part of the business. If the gentleman did work with us, he would probably be someone who would grow faster because he had some experience under his belt! I was not discrediting his past at all. And by no means is our position just door to door sales. We do offer several different job opportunities and we try to decide what position would suit us and the candidate best. This is not a solely commission based job. Again, going back to us being able to offer different job opportunities, each position offered has a different pay structure. salary, and salary and commissions are offered. And by no means at all, is what we do here is a pyramid scheme. By definition: A pyramid scheme is a business model that recruits members via a promise of payments or services for enrolling others into the scheme, rather than supplying investments or sale of products. BL Legacy does not conduct business like that. We are a business and consulting firm, hired by Verizon Fios and Inspire to conduct sales and marketing to help scale and grow their business. Education is key and I'm sorry you were very uneducated on what we do here. I hope I was better able to clarify things. I wish you the best of luck in finding the position that best suits you.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at BL Legacy (Fairfield, NJ) in Jan 2019

      Interview

I was interviewed by the president of the company and immediately realized that her high energy was a reflection of how passionate she is about her company. She broke down the potential day- to- day tasks and asked questions about my work experience.
