      Interior Architect Interview

      Oct 26, 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at BBG - BBGM (New York, NY) in Oct 2011

      Interview

The interview process was very organized and very straight forward. I met with a Sr. partner at the end of the day who reviewed work and spoke very freely and openly about his thoughts of my work and then went on to talk about his own practice. As long as your open to having an open dialog and discussing your projects in a professional manor you should be ok with this. I was fortunate enough to get an email a day or two later to scheduled a second interview with the firm. This time around I met with a project architect who also reviews the work and determines if you are a good fit for the team. The same strategy applies.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked questions based on my work and experience. There wasn't wrong or write answers in my case because my work was more academic. Determining a starting salary was difficult for me personally. Without having much experience in the roll I was applying for made it a difficult when asked what my salary requirements are. Make sure you think about this ahead of time and be realistic, it seems that if they can meet your mark they will but I am not sure if they are negotiators. It didn't come up in most of my interviews but it did come up in this one, so it helps to be prepared.
