This job was posted as a list of NGS technical skills and responsibilities, and it wasn't until the interview that I was told the job also included managing ~10 people. This felt like a bait and switch - while management responsibilities are expected at this level, responsibilities to this degree should be clearly listed on the job description. The 30-min interview with hiring manager barely touched on management skills at all, and was rather a checklist of technical/troubleshooting skills and experiences. I understand the importance of a solid technical background for anyone in this type of position, but supervisors should also have experience and/or training in management skills as well. Silver lining was the timely response from HR for this application + interview.
