The process was very disappointing and surprisingly unprofessional.
1. Phone call with the recruiter: Based on my CV I'd be a good fit for the role.
2. Interview with the hiring manager: Good discussion. I felt pretty good with my answers, the manager directly expressed interest to move things forward with me.
3. A few weeks of silence. Turned out that specific recruiter was unavailable, so the process was awaiting their return.
4. Technical interview: Not difficult, but some questions unnecessarily tricky (e.g. "You didn't try ask for any help with this question. That's not a team spirit."). But again, I hear that my experience would be useful for the company.
5. Radio silence since then.
In the meantime I learned that the company has been restructured, probably with layoffs, which would explain sudden change of heart.
And I fully understand - things like that happen.
But the fact that nobody even bothered to email me, shows absolute lack of respect for my time (not to mention plans and hopes).
At least it's better to see that face of a company, before signing the deal.
