      Executive Assistant Interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Aviat Networks (Austin, TX) in Apr 2026

      Interview

{GHOSTED} I am writing to share my experience with Aviat Networks’ recruitment process, as I feel it reflects poorly on the organization’s professional standards. In late April 2026, a male in-house recruiter reached out to me directly via LinkedIn. They unsolicitedly initiated contact, noting that my specific skill set made me an ideal match for a unlisted role supporting their CEO and CFO. Given the recruiter’s description of the role and its alignment with my background, I agreed to an initial video interview. The call was very positive; the recruiter expressed a high level of enthusiasm, stated that I was a great fit, and explicitly told me they would be moving me forward to the second round. They committed to following up shortly to schedule the next steps. Unfortunately, that was the last I heard from them. I received no further communication, despite sending a follow-up email after a reasonable amount of time. I did not apply for this role; I was actively recruited by the company. When a business reaches out to a candidate, the professional expectation is that they will provide closure, even if the hiring process changes or they decide to move in a different direction. Being ghosted by an in-house recruiter is a significant breach of professional etiquette. Ultimately, this experience left me feeling that I dodged a bullet. A company that allows its representatives to behave with such a lack of transparency and courtesy is not one I would choose to be a part of. Prospective candidates should be aware of this potential lack of follow-through.
