The hiring process was not very formal. I think the manager really needed someone and hired me anyway. There are a lot of stories like this at my store. I don't really have anything else to say about the issue.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at AutoZone
Interview
It was very brief and easy, interviewer was respectful of my time and was able to ask the right questions and no fillers. Nothing should be done differently during the process.
Basic retail interview, was not very focused on car knowledge. Are you reliable, when can you work, and what are your goals basically were the focus. Store manager does all store level interviews
Took a test about cars. Was not too hard. Asked some questions about customer service. Pretty basic. Was offered the job a few hours later via email. One day of orientation.
