      Systems Engineer Interview

      Jul 12, 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Atlas Technica

      Interview

It is definitely a very difficult interview process, but makes it so only people well qualified for the job are let through. While certifications and degrees may be good to have, it is not indicative of your knowledge at present. First round was a multiple choice test, ranging from Azure concepts to DNS and networking. If you're at all experienced in the field you should be able to breeze through it. Second round was multiple choice and short answer questions. Similar questions for the multiple choice as round one. The long form questions were a little more involved, either asking you to describe a concept or a scenario and how you would troubleshoot. Third round was a roleplay call between an Atlas employee and yourself, as well as a hands-on remote session with a machine that was suffering from various networking issues.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Atlas Technica

      Interview

Intense interview with role playing and a test to fill out. The process felt very robotic and I never got to actually converse much with someone. Wanted to have more of a back and forth style interview.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your interview experience. We’re sorry to hear that the process felt overly structured and didn’t allow for the conversational exchange you were hoping for. Our goal is to create an interview environment that is both thorough and engaging, and your comments help us identify where we can improve. We will review our approach to ensure candidates have more opportunities for dialogue and connection during interviews. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

      Systems Engineer Interview

      Anonymous employee

      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Atlas Technica

      Interview

First interview is with their recruitment team. It would be the normal first interview process. Once they decide that you fit their requirements, they will schedule you for the exam. Second interview is not an interview. It's an exam. You will take control of an AVD while taking the exams. You will be sharing your screen and it will be recorded afair. After you're done and have passed the exam, they will schedule the next interview with the hiring managers (which in my case, are the director of support and the team manager). Third interview is done in 3 parts. First is a panel interview which asks you of your qualifications. They will determine if you fit the Jr. Systems Engineer, or the Systems Engineer, or the Sr. Systems Engineer position. The second part is they will watch how you troubleshoot an issue. You will remote into an AVD and troubleshoot the issue. You are allowed to search the issue on Google but not allowed to use any AI-powered tools like chatgpt and copilot. They will assess how you use the search engines while troubleshooting. The third part is role playing which they will assess your troubleshooting skills while on a call. They will also check how you communicate with a customer while troubleshooting. Once you pass this, the last part of the interview process is the offer call.
