      Regional Sales Manager Interview

      Aug 9, 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Philadelphia, PA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Atkore (Philadelphia, PA) in Oct 2012

      Interview

Interview process was organized & planned. I had 4-management types pepper me w/ questions, round-robin style. They all asked very predictable questions; What would you do to grow sales?; What is your greatest sales achievement?; I believe in the end I did not get the position based on the fact i had no college degree. Which makes me wonder why they brought me in for an interview in the first place. I have impeccable sales credentials. Over 10-years as a regional Sales Manager with a current position, so i wasn't here begging for a job. I have a long history of quantifiable achievements and several confirm-able sales awards w/ 2-very large international manufacturing companies.

If you were having trouble getting product production/delivery from manufacturing how would you handle it?

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Atkore

      Interview

Contacted directly by recruiter. Yet another Talent Evaluator/HR type that significantly lacked the professionalism that should be required for this type of position. This is a trend I've discovered from far too many of these recruiter types. After a very promising initial conversation regarding how well my background fit multiple, yes I said MULTIPLE! positions they could place me in, and were hiring for. This recruiter fell of the map, went dark, Ghosted me. Whatever term you use. After repeated requests for any type of response as to interest or status of this conversation. I couldn't get any reply. I find this behavior abhorrent. These are people's lives and livelihood they toy with as if the candidates are simply a commodity/part. An extra screw cast aside in a trash can unneeded. Far from professional, or even meeting basic common decency skills. We are all busy, and under pressure, I get it. A simple "Dear John" would suffice. You can have it typed up ready to go, just add address and hit send. How long does that take? *Note: I used the term "They" to NOT narrow down who this person was (M of F) out of common decency. Something I was NOT afforded.
