I applied online. I interviewed at Associated Consulting Engineers (Beirut) in Apr 2026
Interview
I had a disappointing interview experience with this company. I was initially contacted by the hiring manager and informed that I would be interviewing with the department head after submitting my application. However, when I arrived, those plans suddenly changed. I was asked to fill out the application, but the interview with the department head was canceled without any attempt to reschedule.
While everyone remained polite and professional on the surface, the interaction left me with the strong impression that I was judged before being given a real opportunity to interview. As someone who is visibly Muslim, I could not ignore the feeling that I did not fit the company’s preferred "image" or culture.
Not every candidate will move forward in a hiring process, and I understand that. But what I found discouraging was that I was never given a fair chance to begin with, despite being invited under different expectations. At the end of the day, it felt like my time was wasted.
I also found this particularly surprising given the company’s international presence across the Middle East. I hope we can move past these prejudices, because they do leave and impact, and make job searching even more difficult and stressful than it already is.
they called me to come and fill an application, I came and then after a week they called me for an interview, i i had an interview with the head of department in the meeting room, he didnt see my cv before he read it just in front of me, he asked about what i want to learn about and what softwares i know and i started right after the interview.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Associated Consulting Engineers
Interview
Since I come from a top university in the middle east, I already have credentials and the interview process was more about me rather than technical. I received an offer 1 week later.
