The HR person taken this round and gave a question to design the snake and ladder program in python.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ascendeum (New Delhi) in Jun 2023
Interview
I was approached by the HR on Linkedin. First round was an automated HR video interview round where you have to answer certain questions on a platform. It is fairly simple and straightforward. Then there is the first Technical round. I was asked to design a snake and ladder game where dice is rolled until a winner has emerged. The result is to be displayed in Pandas data frame. The result should contain dice roll history, position history and win status for each player (4 players in total). This round was conducted by the HR herself. I don't get how does the HR understand the logical approach I took with the code. Second technical round is a continuation of the first round where you have to display the 2D position history for each player (co-ordinates) across N-Dimensional board in the same dataframe as the result. Fairly simple, and I got the result as desired for this. After the second technical round, I was ghosted for 4 days, and after reaching out to HR, she told me that they decided to go ahead with other candidates. I don't understand why waste 2 weeks for this? Just let the candidate know if they're not selected. Apart from the interview process, the HR was so arrogant as if she's already paying me to attend the interview. You'll find all these arrogant snobs at the company to work with.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Ascendeum (Bengaluru) in May 2023
Interview
I had a relatively straightforward interview experience consisting of one screening call, an HR round, and two technical rounds focusing on basic coding skills. The HR round utilized a video platform where I was asked a few predetermined questions to better understand my background. These questions were fairly simple and did not pose any significant challenges. In the first technical round, I was tasked with coding a snake and ladder game using Python. The objective was to implement the game logic, including dice rolls and tracking the position history of each player until a winner emerged. Additionally, I was required to display the final scoreboard using a dataframe. The second round built upon the first one and involved extending the dataframe to represent a 2D position for a snake and ladder board of any size, such as 4x4 or 5x5. The scalability of the board and the ability to accommodate dynamic numbers of players were emphasized. Although I successfully completed all the interview rounds, I faced a disappointment afterward. Despite being assured that they would provide an update, I never heard back from the HR team. This lack of communication, coupled with the fact that I was not informed about the potential job offer in advance, made me feel like the entire process was a waste of time. It's worth noting that this company operates night shifts, likely following Eastern US Time. This information was not disclosed to me beforehand, so it's advisable to be prepared for this if considering a position with them.
