I have over 10 years of interview experience and this was the most drawn out process I have ever experienced. I started the interview process on May and I had done 1 phone interview, 2 in person interviews and a homework assignment over a holiday weeknd. I was interviewed by 3 different people and one the people was the person I was replacing (who said she didn't want to leave and she didn't know when she was leaving). Overall they were very nice and I was very excited about the opportunity, however I felt very pulled along. I had to go thru generic interviews but I had to do an in depth protocol critique to prove I have critical thinking skills. This alone felt like it was overkill, I did it bc I did a lot already and didn't want to waste my efforts. After the critique I got an additional request for an interview because the decision was between me and one other person. The last interview was 10 mins which seemed like it was unnecessary. When I finally received an email it did not state if I got the job or not. Going on three monthd I made the decision I wouldn't take the job, bc the process made me feel like they wanted the candidates to turn down the job rather than inform candidates that there was no available position.
