Interview
Day-long on-site interview, met with 6 people. Overall, very good experience. Everyone was focused on learning about my work experience and fit. Since this was a technical role, one session was for whiteboarding.

Walkthrough of how to resolve a technical problem.
The interview process is well organized by HR but it seems the hiring team doesn't know what they are looking for. They make you come to interview for several rounds. It is very time consuming - both on-site hours and off-site take home assignment. The expectations of what kind of candidates they hope to have are not quite on the same page among various management levels.

Interview
The interview process consisted of a brief phone screening, an in-person interview and a follow-up phone call. The in-person interview took up an entire day, but was a thorough candidate screening. It involved a section on your character (interests, successes, challenges, etc) and another that was analytical. Both sections were enjoyable. After the first two sections, AppNexus provides you with lunch and then sets you up with your team if you pass the first half of the day. The team will want to get to know you and figure out what your skills are. They will tell you all about AppNexus/the job and answer any questions you may have.
The entire day of in-person interviews was managed very well. Each interviewer was prepared, timely, and efficient. Overall, the whole day was well organized.

For the analytical section, I was asked to name a topic of choice (something I knew well) that was analytical in someway. I was then challenged with analyzing the subject. This was very interactive and fun to work through.
Next, I was given a scenario that was relevant to AppNexus' business and was asked to work through the challenge out loud. Again, very interactive with a lot of variables to consider in solving the problem.
