      Midmarket Account Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Apollo.io (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2025

      Interview

My interview experience with Apollo was overwhelmingly positive... right up until the very end. The recruiter was incredibly communicative and supportive throughout the process. I always knew where I stood and what was coming next. The hiring manager was fantastic, too; thoughtful, clear, and a pleasure to speak with. I also had great conversations with leaders from the AM and Solutions Consultant teams. Everyone I met was transparent, engaged, and gave me a strong sense of what it would be like to work at Apollo. That’s why the way things ended felt especially disappointing. After interviewing for several weeks (starting on February 10th through March 31), I received a calendar invite for what I understood to be the final step of the process, a mock sales call presentation, on March 31st. Three hours later, I was told I wouldn’t be moving forward due to a hiring policy change implemented by the newly hired CRO. It had nothing to do with my performance or fit, at least as far as I was told. After investing time and effort in preparing for each step, this sudden shift felt like a really unfortunate and avoidable way to treat a candidate. Especially one who was genuinely excited about the opportunity and the team. Apollo seems to be full of great people and big potential. I’d still encourage others to pursue roles there, but I hope future candidates are treated with more consideration and respect, particularly in the final stages.
