I applied online. I interviewed at Anthropologie (Walnut Creek, CA) in May 2026
Interview
I connected with the hiring manager at Anthropologie and was given the opportunity to do a pre-recorded interview. I found the accessibility frustrating, as their recorded interview website had very unclear instructions and poor video quality. There was also a lack of flexibility, as the recorded interview format prevented connecting with a real person, and the unstable website connection made it impossible to even get a single good video. A job in a retail environment is inherently one that requires human connection, so talking to a webcam without a human to discuss important questions felt frustrating and counterintuitive. I love Anthropologie as a brand, and I have always felt so happy with the customer service and experience in-store. I'm just disappointed it didn't transfer to the interview experience.

Question 1
Expand upon previous difficulties you had a client and how you dealt with it
It was a group interview. The whole situation was so wholesome and not at all as stressful as I thought it would be. The hiring managers were lovely, there were many different tasks such as icebreakers, assessing a customer's style etc

Interview was so fun! Got to choose outfits for different scenarios, and the manager that was interviewing the group was so kind and very informative! The job itself was also very hands on and creative, I learned so much!
