I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Tax Service (Las Vegas, NV) in Jun 2024
Interview
The first interview was by phone. The recruiter was great, and answered all of my questions.
The second part was an in person interview.
I initially was greeted, late, by the manager who actually conducted the interview, Later, we were joined by another manager who basically sat in the corner with a pen and a notepad, I assume to take notes. He never spoke or asked any questions. He mainly sat there just kind of smirking. It was very uncomfortable.
The interview was done is a small office, with the door open. The main interviewer would ask me a question, and while I was answering, look past me to someone behind me at the open door. A couple of times someone came in to hand her some paperwork.
I was told that they were going to make a decision that week and that I would be contacted with their decision. I never heard back from them, not even the basic "we've decided to pursue other candidates" rejection email.
It was bar none the most unprofessional, worst interview I have ever experienced.

Question 1
The only question I remember them asking (mainly because I thought it was stupid):
"How would you handle ambiguity in the office?"

Interview
Interesting- kind of a weird process not really sure what to make of it. They seem like they like you but then they don’t hire many. Very interesting environment. Nice building and not a great commute it’s downtown in Las Vegas.

Basic tax questions and basic personality questions.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at American Tax Service (Gadsden, AL) in Nov 2016
Interview
I was called and asked to set up an interview. When I came in, Katrina introduced herself then sat me down to begin the interview. It started with her telling me what I was applying for and describing the job and all the duties. She made sure I was fully aware of what would be expected of me if I were offered the position. She went over my resume. She asked me questions about each job and how the skills I learned there would be useful here. She then went over my payment schedule and hourly wages, then offered me the position. I started a week later. The over-all experience was pleasant. I enjoy the people I work with and for.
