I applied online and was excited to get a callback. Interviewed with an HR firm that was brought in by AO to assist with their hiring as they don't have their own HR/operations department.
This was a very strange experience, where about 75% of the interview seemed more concerned with my work history (where I had worked, what those organizations did, the organization size and the reporting structure). I honestly felt like they were less interested in me as a candidate and more interested in the places where I had worked as some of these questions were answerable via an internet search or on my resume.
I only had about 15 minutes out of an hour to ask questions about the job itself and it was less of a conversation but felt a bit more like an interrogation. To be clear, the interviewers I interacted with via the conversation or in email seemed professional and polite, but the interview itself was not useful as a candidate in learning more about the organization, team or the job or a way for me to show why I would be a good fit, etc.
I would have loved to have spoken directly with the AO's team but after this interview I was significantly less interested in the position and was not surprised I did not advance.
